Prolotherapy, also referred to as proliferation therapy or regenerative injection treatment is most simply descripted as the injection of dextrose (sugar) in to an area of inflammation. This can be a joint space, ligaments or tendon insertion. Prolotherapy is an irritant that will cause a local inflammatory response that generally will help the target tissue to heal and recover. It is also commonly used for stretched ligaments or joint instability. Acu-Prolotherapy uses this same concept while adding the anti-inflammatory properties of acupuncture to heal the area after the injection is performed. In addition, solution may include other substances that have been shown to help the tissues to heal more quickly like B12, B Complex, and lidocaine may be added to ease the comfort of the procedure.
Trigger Point Injection (Wet needling) $120
We are starting to see an increased demand in trigger point injections. Historically, the term trigger point dry needling started being used following clinical trials that showed that treatments were just as effective when no solution was injection (dry needling) as when a sterile solution (usually lidocaine) was injection in to a tight muscle ban (wet needling). As needling techniques has becomes better, and solution other than just lidocaine have been used we are finding that there can in fact be greater results when both a local twitch response is elicited and a proper solution is used. This can help to release the tight band while simultaneously providing the nutrients and hydration the tissues needs to heal and recover. Typical solutions can include lidocaine, B complex, 5% dextrose, and homeopathic formulations.

Biopuncture is a term that was coined my Jan Kersschot in the late 70’s or early 80’s. It is a procedure that uses homeopathic formulations (usually Heel products like Traumeel, Spascupreel or Zeel) injected in to strategic places in order to reduce pain and expedite the healing process. The most common locations are traditional acupuncture points because of their documented protocols for healing specific injuries. This treatment is very similar to Acupoint Injection therapy (AIT) and is considered to be a treatment style or subset of AIT. The main difference of about Biopuncture is that it specifically uses homeopathic injected in to the locations.
Nueral Therapy $120
Neural Therapy in an injection procedure that uses local analgesics like Lidocaine or Procaine injected in to scar tissue or traditional acupuncture point locations. This procedure is based on the fact that scar tissues is an abnormal formation of connective tissue and has a different electrical conductivity which interrupt signals from the body to the mind. Neural therapy has been used to treat many different kinds of chronic pain conditions and mysterious conditions that don’t seems to respond well to other treatment options. Injection are typically very shallow and will create a bump or bolus at the injection site in an effort to break up the scar tissue locally and relieve pain.
