Ankle pain is common in Sports. The ankle, also known as the talocrural region, connects the foot and the leg. The ankle is made up of three joints: they are the ankle joint proper, the subtalar joint, and the inferior tibiofibular joint. These joints are common causes Ankle Pain. The ankle also allows for extension and flexion. The ankle is probably one of the most common areas to see injury from sports activity and therefor have ankle pain. Common causes of ankle pain include, but are not limited to: ankle sprains (inversion ankle sprain and eversion ankle sprain), ankle strain, perennial tendonitis, and fractures.
