Introduction to Acupoint Injection Therapy

2 Days – 16 Total CEU [13 PE + 3 Safety CEUs

This is an introductory course on Acupoint Injection Therapy (AIT) in TCM. We will look at the history of injection therapy in China, how it relates to TCM treatment principles, how to determine what to inject and where. We will go over Clean Needle Technique (CNT) and sterile withdrawal procedures, discuss the substances allowed in Colorado, and we practitioners can order those substances. We will demonstrate and participants will practice Triggerpoint Injections, Acupoint Injections, and cosmetic facial injection for fine lines and wrinkles.

Orthopedic Treatment Strategies: Lower Extremity

2 Days – 16 Total CEUs [16 AOM – Bio CEUs]

This course will teach orthopedic assessment and treatment strategies of the Lower extremity. We will review anatomy, manual muscle testing orthopedic testing and treatment protocol of common orthopedic disorders of the lower extremities. We will practice Acupuncture, TrP needling techniques, Kinesio taping, and AcuPoint Injections Techniques (AIT) if you have taken an intro AIT course

Orthopedic Treatment Strategies: Upper Extremity

We will review anatomy, manual muscle testing orthopedic testing and treatment protocol of common orthopedic disorders of the neck and back. We will practice Acupuncture, TrP needling techniques, Kinesio taping, and AcuPoint Injections Techniques (AIT) if you have taken an intro AIT course

Orthopedic TriggerPoint Injections

2 Days – 16 Total CEUs [13AOM – Bio + 3 Safety CEUs] Date: TBD

This is an advanced trigger point injection class that looks at common orthopedic disorders and how to treat them with Acupoint injection therapy. We will go over Clean Needle Technique (CNT) and sterile withdrawal procedures, discuss the substances allowed in Colorado, and we practitioners can order those substances. We will demonstrate and participants will practice Triggerpoint Injections for common orthopedic disorders.

AcuPoint / TriggerPoint Injection Review

1 Day – 8 Total CEUs [8 PE CEUs] Date: TBD

This is a 1 day review for people that have taken the Intro to AIT class and want to review and get better with their injection techniques. This will be a custom class where student will submit area that they want to review and the course will be tailored to student requests

Aesthetic Injections Review

1 Day – 8 Total CEUs [8 PE CEUs]
Date: TBD

This is a 1 day course that goes more indepth in the aesthetic injections. This class will use saline or bacterio-static solutions to practice and will be heavy in practical time. Student will practice in each other injecting fine lines and wrinkles, crows feet, nasolabial and marionette lines. Information will be given about products within our scope of practice to inject.

About the Instructor

Dr. Scott Richardson DAOM completed his Masters and Doctorate degrees from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego. There he studied under Matt Callison and was an intern at his clinic and also an intern at USCD’s RIMAC student athlete center. He has lived in Colorado for the last 7 years were he has served as Vice President, President and Legislative Chair of the Acupuncture Association of Colorado (AAC). He was instrumental in getting Acupoint Injection Therapy (AIT) written in to the scope of practice for Colorado acupuncturists. He is the owner of Denver Acupuncture & Sports Medicine were he continues to see patients with a wide variety of concerns.
